On 30th January, 2016, the Secretary of Tripura State Election has
been requested by the Tipraland State Party(TSP) for allotment of common
symbol out of approved free symbols in the General
Election to ADC Villages in TTAADC as the Tipraland State
Party was formed on 25th October, 2015 and the matter on it
registration has been submitted to the Election Commission of India. The
Election Commission of India has intimated to the Party vide letter F.No.56/199/2015/PPS-I/201,dt.27/11/2015
that the Commission had received the application for registration under 29A of
the Representation of the People Act, 1951 in respect of Tipraland State Party
on 23.11.2015. The copy of the said letter of the Election Commission of India
is enclosed herewith.
The
General Election to the ADC Village
Committee has been declared on 27/01/2016 as it general election is due. The Tipraland State Party(TSP) shall be
contesting in the said general election as a democratic party. As the Party has
applied for registration with the Election Commission of India and for
facilitating people’s participation in the democratic process in the areas of
TTAADC, on behalf of the Party, I would request the State Election Commission,
Tripura to kindly allot a common symbol for Tipraland State Party in the
ensuing General ADC Village Committee Election-2016.
Therefore,
the Party has chosen three symbols in order of preference for the said general
election: 1.Saw 2. Battery Torch and 3. Scissors of which symbol “Saw” may kindly be as a common symbol
to the candidates of the party for this election.
But the Secretary, State Election Commission(Tripura) declined to do so for
the party is yet to be registered with the Election Commission of India.
